Danilo is the heir of a historic family of winemakers from the Marches, from the province of Ancona.
The company was born in the early twentieth century when Danilo’s grandfather cultivated the vineyards and the fields of his property.
At the end of the fifties the company was then passed on to his son Mario and his wife Maria, who increased the vineyard area and began to market the wine directly, first locally, then throughout ItalyIn the mid- eighties Danilo took over the company, the vineyards increased and the quantity of wine produced also increased. In those years we began to cultivate the vines organically.
The Tenuta Mattei brand was born in 2013.
To date, Podere Mattei owns about 25 hectares of vineyards of Verdicchio, Lacrima, Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Merlot. The annual production is around 3,000 quintals of grapes with a potential production of around 250,000 bottles.
Immersed in the colorful hills of the Marche region, between villages and castles, just a few kilometers from the sea.
The cellar has a capacity of 3000 hl, stainless steel tanks of different sizes, with specific equipment for the fermentation of white and red wines.
There is also a small barrique cellar which is used for the aging of the reserves and for the production of the sweet wine.

Luogo stupendo immerso nel verde delle colline. Abbiamo assaggiato un po’ tutti i vini di loro produzione accompagnati da alcune specialità locali. La gentilezza e la preparazione dello staff ti fa capire che c’è ancora chi fa il proprio lavoro con passione. Da provare sicuramente.
