Wine tasting Brescia

The province of Brescia is, among the provinces of Lombardy, one of the most interesting from the point of view of wine where you can do Wine Tasting Brescia. Wine production in the area is represented by
1 DOCG denomination and 8 DOC.

Franciacorta DOCG represents one of the few Italian denominations entirely dedicated to sparkling wine made with the classic method. The grape varieties allowed for the production of Franciacorta sparkling wines are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. In the rosé there must be at least 25% Pinot Noir, while the Satèn must be vinified exclusively from white grapes. For the production of the millesimato typology, grapes must be used that come for at least 85% from the harvest of the year indicated on the label. The minimum period of aging on the yeasts is 18 months for the basic version, 24 months for the Rosé and the Satèn, 30 months for the millesimato and 60 months for the reserves.

Another important DOC from Brescia that overlooks Lake Garda is the Lugana DOC, on the southern shore, shared with the province of Verona. The wines are produced with the Turbiana grape variety, which is none other than Trebbiano di Soave, which however lives in a different type of habitat. It is a grape variety capable of expressing itself with versatility both in the classic white versions and in the sparkling ones. Current production regulations include five types of Lugana: the basic version, the Superiore, the Riserva, the Vendemmia Tardiva and the Spumante.

The Valcamonica IGT denomination represents one of the most important wine-growing areas in the Lombardy region. Valcamonica IGT denomination was created in 2003. The wines of the Valcamonica IGT denomination are mainly based on the Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Marzemino, Merlot grape varieties.
