The Soave DOC specification requires an ampelographic composition based on the Garganega grape variety for at least 70%, with the remaining part being Trebbiano di Soave, Pinot Bianco and Chardonnay. The prevailing orientation of the producers is however that of using pure Garganega, native to the area located between the provinces of Verona and Vicenza.
