The province of Brescia is, among the provinces of Lombardy, one of the most interesting from the point of view of wine, here you can do a visit to Franciacorta Wineries.
Franciacorta DOCG represents one of the few Italian denominations entirely dedicated to sparkling wine made with the classic method. The grape varieties allowed for the production of Franciacorta sparkling wines are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. In the rosé there must be at least 25% Pinot Noir, while the Satèn must be vinified exclusively from white grapes.
For the production of the millesimato typology, grapes must be used that come for at least 85% from the harvest of the year indicated on the label. The minimum period of aging on the yeasts is 18 months for the basic version, 24 months for the Rosé and Satèn, 30 months for the millesimato and 60 months for the reserves.
